Alex Acosta is an actor, writer and producer born and raised in the SF Bay Area. Alex has always had a passion for film and theater arts. Having done a few commercials and theater plays as a teenager, it wasn't until his early 30's that he started truly committing to acting.
Alex starred in the full length feature film drama "Refuge," which won an Independent Spirit Award in 2017. In addition to landing several leading roles in short and feature films, Alex has built a sturdy resume of acting work as well as modeling jobs. In 2014 he won "Best Actor" at the Roswell Sci-Fi Film Festival.
In 2017, Alex decided to put his passions for creative writing in front of acting by writing, co-producing and starring in the TV pilot for "#Adulting," which is currently in post-production.
Other projects on his plate include stand-up comedy. Alex can be found hosting his own comedy showcase bi-monthly, as well as making scheduled appearances at various comedy clubs such as The Punchline and Laughs Unlimited.
With 2018 underway, Alex plans to continue developing new creative film projects working in front of and behind the camera.
Robert Carrera is a film writer, director, actor and producer. Raised in the East Bay Area of California, he found his calling for filmmaking at a very young age.
He studied at the New York Film Academy, earning top marks, before continuing his education at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he quickly earned acclaim among his peers and mentors.
Robert has been making films for more than ten years, and has created a dream team of people he frequently works with, among whom is Matthew Gatsos, who scores most of his films. Known for incorporating alternate reality fantasies in the midst of very serious realities, his stories have a way of captivating the audience and making them feel invested in his characters.
As a common theme, you’ll usually find his protagonists facing obstacles involving love and/or deception.
Robert won Best Picture for his short film “Consequence” (2009) at the Epidemic Film Festival and received Best Director for “The Wedding” (2008) at the Vallejo Film Festival.
Dania Denise is a model, actor, host, voice-over artist and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She has appeared in a variety of projects ranging from commercials and TV to short films, magazines, billboards and is also a former national pageant titleholder (USA Petite Ms. 2015).
Dania received her B.A. in Radio/TV with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Journalism from San Francisco State University where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA in 2005.
While she continues to enjoy a successful career as a model and actress, Dania also owns and operates the popular art business, The Chalk Chica, and expanded her entertainment career to include offering mentoring, coaching and consultation services to aspiring models, actors and pageant contestants via her latest business endeavor, DaniaDee.com.
Transitioning to the roles of producer, writer and casting director has given Dania even more opportunities to live, breathe and perfect her craft behind the camera while continuing to strengthen her skills as an actress on-camera.
Amit Botadkar is a director of photography/photographer living in San Francisco. Originally from Mumbai, India, Amit assisted with several feature films there before making his way to California.
He completed his MFA in Motion Pictures & Television from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Amit has worked on various projects and enjoys experimenting with different genres of film photography. His lighting techniques are unique and adaptive to the nature of the story.
Trained to shoot on film, he was an early adopter of digital video technology, which has become so prevalent today.
“I look at the story and then think about the composition and lighting style I’m going to adapt for the film."
Amit’s film as director of photography, "The Lake” was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 2011 Epidemic Film Festival.
